Anybody tried an Airhawk on a Connie?

I have a Corbin seat. Discomfort by 1st hour, Pain by 2nd, Going crazy by the 3rd - never done 4 straight. I would like to have at least three hours pain free (or at least to discomfort stage) at a time, I wouldn't mind resting 30 mins every three hours, as it is much more convenient than resting 10 mins every hour. I was hoping the Airhawk could be a low cost alternative - a Russell or Sargent is worth a whole bunch of other farkles...... Thanks, 1983 Yahama XS650 Heritage Special (Sold)

I have an Airhawk. I use it on my Corbin sometimes on long rides/trips. Yes it helps a lot. But you must use it right from the start. If you wait until your sore, it's all ready too late. Normally I just use a Alaskan Sheep skin over my Corbin with great results. Bionic Bob COG & AMA member First C14 CDA member #0220 08 C14,03 Mean Streak, & 86 C10

I should note that I have a C14. I never used it on my old C10 with it's Corbin. But the Corbin felt very similar on that bike, a 2003. And my 86 C10 has the OEM seat on it. Bionic Bob COG & AMA member First C14 CDA member #0220 08 C14,03 Mean Streak, & 86 C10

I'm using one on my stock '05 seat. It does make a difference. Is it perfect--no! I've used beads, a sheepskin, beads AND a sheepskin but none of them worked as well for me as the Airhawk. I recently used it on a nine hour ride back from Ranger Jim's in South Carolina. I usually try to stop every 1-1/2 hours whatever I'm using and with the Airhawk I was still able to walk at the end of the ride! Using the other methods, I would be in agony at the end. Now, as to whether you could do 3 hours at a stretch...I have no idea. I know I can't. Not here in the Southeast heat. I am looking forward to see how it does riding from Florida to Wisconsin(and back)in July, though! It's more expensive than beads or a sheepskin, but less expensive than a seat. Which may or may not work for you either! JMO Eddie COG Marketing Asst. Sanford, FL 2005 Concours 1969 Triumph Bonneville AMA# 686667 COG# 7073 CDA# 0136 http://picasaweb.google.com/Eddie753

I like the AirHawk seat especially in the colder temperatures. When it starts to get hotter the Airhawk comes off and the beaded seat replaces it. The beaded seat works much better when it starts to get real hot and humid outside. The beads let a little air circulate under your....well you know. Getting off of the bike every 1 - 1.5 hous just to strech your legs, visit the mens room, and rehydrate yourself are necessary if you want to put in a full days ride on your motorcycle. The biggest help for me was to get some moisture wicky under pants nothing special just the athletic ones at Target. Then gave up the blue jeans for some of the camping pants from REI. This under my mesh pants made a huge difference.

I had Spencer lower and redue the seat with his honeycomb style gel mat. Goes inside the seat. website: greatdaytoride.com I also use wood beads on top of that as summer time the seats get very hot, during winter I ride just seat. On my Roadliner I use the Airhawk and place the pad before the ride.

Wow, thanks for the response. I am certainly going to check that out, as it would probably not be that much more expensive, or even cheaper than two AirHawks.
