April 5th Shuttle Launch

I'm planning a trip from Lafayette, Indiana to Kennedy Space Center to watch the early morning shuttle launch on Monday April 5th. I'm planning to take 3 days to go down (leaving Friday the 2nd) and two days back to make it home on Tuesday evening. I'm still planning my lodging arrangements; currently I'm planning to use the Motorcycle Traveler's Network but I'd also like to meet some COG members along the way. I realize its Easter weekend but if anyone would be willing to open their house (or yard even, I've got a tent) to a new member I would greatly appreciate it. That looks like a fun trip! I don't know what your lodging plans are in Titusville, but keep in mind they may very well delay the launch 24 hours and you may find yourself without an available hotel if you don't make a reservation. I drove down from Charleston, SC to see the launch on 2/7 and when it was delayed, all the hotels within 30 miles were booked. Hindsight's 20-20, right?
 
A friend at work went to that same launch, his pictures are actually what inspired me to plan this trip. I'm taking an extra day off work just in case the launch is delayed.
