Backta Shasta

Roland Hill had some info previously (late '08/early'09) and had given me a name of another person who would contact message boards. Dates I was given are Sept.18,19,20. Have not seen any further info, but am really interested.Text Bob Young State of Jefferson COG #5753 C-10 A-1

Well OK then, it's official. This IS a Backta Shasta thread! Can't wait! I've been wanting to get back down there & ride Hwy 299 that I've heard so much about. Maybe even go through Lassen finally! I ain't doing no hotel this time though, and no tent camping either! I liked that Mt Shasta KOA so much the last time I stayed there (except for the trains) that I reserved a "Kamping Kabin" for 3 nights. Nice too that it'll be after the start of the school year, hopefully the highways won't be so "touristy" in mid September! Mike B / Gig Harbor, WA

We've camped in KOA's around the Western US and railroad tracks/trains seem to be a requirement for a KOA location. The one in Mt.Shasta is near us, but we've never stayed there. We want to try the camping cabins also; maybe we will soon. However, when the Shatsa Ralley comes around, we'll be sleeping in our own beds at home! Sure hope this happens; we have great riding here in the State of Jefferson. Hope to see and meet every one there,Text Bob Young State of Jefferson COG #5753 C-10 A-1

I am interested, but will have to wair until later in the year to see how scheduling works out. SWMBO has a trip planned to New England / Prince Edward Island area in September, but it may be after the rally. Dates are not yet definite. Personal connection...I was born in Mt. Shasta, along with my 2 sisters and brother. Didn't grow up there, but would like to see the old town again. I typically camp, KOA or state park if one is close by. Have been thinking about this since the last issue of Concourier arrived. Hope to make it, we will see!
