Best place to buy a Kawasaki touring seat?

Has anyone ever ordered a new touring seat from an European Kawasaki part supplier? I've seen a couple on the internet and with shipping the seat is about $477.

Kfm motorrader is where I just ordered a Kawasaki Concours touring seat made by Kawasaki Kawasaki part number. About $477 used PayPal. I also got a air filter with no extra shipping cost. DHL I will let you know how it went. KFM has good reviews of the people have used them in the past. When the exchange rate is good. And you're buying something that costs a few hundred dollars. Flat shipping rate of 95 Euros

I got my new Kawasaki touring seat from Germany today. It came in a Kawasaki parts box. Much cheaper than buying in the United States. I don't know why that is. 477. U.S. Is a whole lot cheaper than 739. Plus shipping they took approximately 15 days to get it.

Kawasaki 999941575. Is the part number for the seat. https://www.kfm-motorraeder.de/en is the website. When you place your order they order from Japan I'm assuming, it took about a week to get to them then it takes about another week to get to you.344.58 euros is approximately 366.US That's for the seat. I also bought a Kawasaki Concours air filter on The same order. 37.36 US. Shipping was 101.00 US
I am not a rich man. So I am Mr thrifty and shop for low prices. There may be cheaper German or European Kawasaki parts dealers. That's like the first one I found way at the end of a Google search for the seat. Seems like every US supplier wanted $739 for the seat. Why they have such a markup I do not know. I spent 3 years in Germany in the army in the '80s. So I was not afraid to deal with Germans. This parts dealer sends you updates when you're parts arrives to them and when they ship it out. And it was shipped to me by DHL all way to my state capital and then turned over to the US postal Service and delivered to my house. It must be signed for he advised.

I'll let you know. It's off getting tires and brake fluid change as well as air filter. I won't get it back till this weekend. From what I understand there's a break in period On it too. There's lots of talk on this forum about the the touring seat.

I'm interested in how it performs.
Vern, I've had the touring seat for over a year now. And it's so much better than any of the other c14 seats I've tried. I have a 2010 that came with a Sargent. I went to a 2 piece corbin, then found a stock 2009 gel seat. Nothing jelly about it ,.found a stock 2016, that according to everything I read was suppose to have been redesigned with different padding and less slant. Wasn't bad, but after trying my buddies c14 with a touring seat, the search was on. Granted it's not as good as the winged premium seats like RDL. Baldwin etc...but I have had no issues riding 600+ mile on it .

I’m still on a stock seat, well it’s enhanced by a AirHawk2 seat air cushion.

We have three 1,000+ mile days in the saddle, lots of 500-700 mile days and many 700-900 mile days. I could not do 500 miles a day, back to back to back without the AirHawk2 on that stock 2017 seat.

I am interested if the Touring seat would change the ‘tush appeal’ that much for is. Getting ready to replace one of our two AirHawk2 seat air cushions, they’re around $100 - for just a weee bit more we can get a touring seat from across the pond.

Hmm maybe both 😉.!?

Possibly if having not pulled the trigger by the National Rally we can have a try that seat appeal day for those willing to share their seats in the parking lot.

I'm a member of the Velvet Butt Association, myself, but it seems to me that neither my stock seat nor the one on the motorcycle has enough padding. Two BTB days of 10+ hours in the saddle last week coming home from the SE Spring Rally in Tenn really brought that point home.

I've been thinking of an upgrade (for the bike) and conveniently received a large tax refund check just yesterday. It may be some time before I can persuade my super-frugal self to cough up for a custom seat, and I can always do that later. I think I might oughta jump on this deal before Mama Kaw stops making them.

I'm really into enjoying my Kawasaki tourne Seat. I'm a big guy. And I can ride two to three times as far with this seat as I could with the stock 2016 seat.

That's the review I was looking for (also Konehead's). I run 200 lb. PLUS camping gear and stuff when traveling. For me it isn't about miles but about how many hours I can stay in the saddle, counting time off-bike at roadside attractions and distractions.

Last Saturday I rode 300 mi That's farther than I've rode in years. I could have rode much farther. I just ran out of time.

..if anybody interested, there's a practically new Baldwin sest that just came up for sale in classifieds...

I found my touring seat on Facebook marketplace. My longest day on it so far was 18 hours, and I will say it's the best seat I've ever had.

Thanks for this. I just ordered mine, even with shipping costs it's much cheaper than anywhere else I've seen

I bought some C14 plastics and saved a ton. Until I saw this thread, I wouldn't have thought to compare to foreign suppliers.

Hi, this is Doug from CT. This is the only thread that has mentioned a Sargent seat. What did you think of the one on your 2010.
I may try the "low version" would love to be another 1.5" closer to the ground. do you still have the Sargent?

I have one to sell if you decide you want one.

Hard as a 2x6. Height was fine but couldn't go longer than an hour...

Wow, thank you. My stock is fine for around town, but really want something for these long trips to the Nationals.
to Quote you "Vern, I've had the touring seat for over a year now" Is this the Kawasaki touring seat? Bought from Kawasaki?

I believe that's what he has. Do yourself a favor and check foreign parts houses as they have been proven to have considerably lower prices. I learned about this from another member that bought his touring seat from Germany. I bought some plastics and saved a couple of hundred bucks.

Yes it's THE kawasaki touring seat, and got mine from another cogger off the forum. Occasionally seats do come up for sale and I snapped it up. Check ebay as well.

kb9ndl — Thx for the Tour Seat tip! Just got mine drop shipped from the German Kaw site. It was listed for 363€u and I got caught in the tariff battle so it ended up costing $540 US including shipping $93 with a 7 week wait. It is way better than the stock seat on my ‘19! No more tank jamming seat slide. It is a little taller saddle but I’m 6’ so it doesnt matter.

My 2 cents, with the caveat that every seat will "fit" everybody differently...I too have a 2010 and learned very quickly that the stock seat was junk, IMO. But, I tolerated it for several riding seasons. I'd finally had enough of finding excuses to get off the bike, so I did the seat search and settled on a Sargent Low. Result? For me, it was only marginally better than the stock seat. Easier to plant my feet, yes, but I tolerated the same old butt burn for a full riding season before starting the search again. I finally decided on a Baldwin made by Loren Mock (unfortunately, he is no longer in the seat biz). This time, I have zero issues, and it's been seven years. My yardstick for seat comfort is being able to ride non-stop from a full tank to empty, and that's what I get now. If you're in no real hurry, keep an eye on the usual sites for a used one. Should be less $$ than a new Sargent. But at the end of the day, finding a decent seat is always a crapshoot. Good luck.
