Body Parts

Okay, after discussions with the insurance company I know I'll have at least $1,500 for repairs. No problem doing them myself but where other than bikebandit , (only slightly less expensive than the dealer), can I find inexpensive new or used body parts for my 1993 ZG-1000? Thanks, Bill in MN

Before you spend that big insurance check on a bunch of new plastic parts, check out my company's offerings for plastic repair and refinishing products: http://www.urethanesupply.com/street.php I dropped my '01 in the parking lot (actually twice in a 48 hour period... don't ask). I was able to repair my cracked plastic easily with the PlastiFix kit. Thankfully the parts fit together nicely so it didn't even need paint work. Too bad I couldn't fix the mirror--I think it was $65. Ouch!

eBay is my first choice for stuff. Lots of bikes being parted out on there. Some items are rare (main fairings without damage, footpegs) but they do come up on occasion. Be careful on prices tho...some items have gotten a bit out of hand. +1 on the plastifix. I repaired a few items with it, and while it's slow going, it does a great job. Actually, it does an EXCELLENT job....and that's why it takes so long. I was amazed at how strong the job was, too. If it's repairable, and it's just about always repairable, this stuff will do the job. http://www.millerized.com I'll be in the garage

If you can't find stuff on Ebay or wherever else you might shop, try these guys http://www.ronayers.com/index.cfm I bought all my stuff there, and the prices were pretty good.
