Tommyhof has a nose for great food and this pancake feed is one of the best. http://www.co.patrick.va.us/extra.cfm?eventID=1863 Folks who have moved away from MOD return each year for this excellent feed. It was made two weekends a few years ago due to demand. Fast, effecient, friendly folks. And when you're done, you're right at the Blue Ridge parkway. :) See you there! That just may be my last camping weekend (other than Brrr...) for the year. I'm wondering if I can make it....those pancakes were pretty damn tasty. Even with that brown lumpy stuff on them. :8o: Then at Brrr..., we HAVE to hit Bluegrass for theirs on the way home. We just finished the apple butter I bought that morning. Of course, it took the better part of 9 months to open it, tho. Goooooood stuff. Lemmee check the calendar. This just might work. http://millerized.com/pegs I'll be in the garage

It'a the perfect stop for brekkie on the way home, even if you live in Richmond. ;) Pat COG 1887 IBA 5830 NRA LIFE VSSA LIFE Assorted bikes own me.

Ah twist my arm, if the weather gods are good and it's in the 60's I just might come along. Breaks and don't be late.

Sounds like a good time and good riding . The Parkway is always a good ride . I'm off that weekend and if the skys are halfway clear I'll be ready for some camping and Pancakes . :)

I googled a couple of rides for anyone interested, one is to Mt Airy home of Andy Griffith and Barney, this is a short ride, but will give you time to tour the town. http://www.visitmayberry.com/ Another ride is to Shady Vally Country store. http://www.shadyvalleycountrystore.com/ I will bring hard copy Google maps.

shady valley is one of my favorites. 421 switchbacks between mountain city and bristol tenn. hell yeah... 22 miles of switch backs up and down the mountain, thru shady valley and up and down the mountain.turn around and repeat. 91 down to elizabethton is real nice too. you just might be roping me into this one.

Just talked to Will at Willville, he will be open 23-25 Oct for Buckwheats. He had hip surgery so he was a little concerned about leaves and the general state of the camp, since Doctors orders are to take it easy, told him this was COG get together and he said he would stay open for us.

Wow..........Winter has arrived in Western PA this morning! Snow, many inches in North Central Pa around State College. Hope we have a thaw before next weekend or the PA gang might be snowbound! jason

Guys, I'm out........... Issues with empty Rental properties are going to keep me home this coming weekend. Have fun, hope to see you at Burr. jason

Tom: If you happen to have any native american mixed in with that teutonic/scandinavian (or whatever) background of yours, you think you could muster up a little anti-rain dance? Yours truly, Paul V.

Paul and Tom, I'm 1/8 Onondaga. Working on it. Pat COG 1887 IBA 5830 NRA LIFE VSSA LIFE Assorted bikes own me.

What's the problem, the weather report says 60% chance of no rain. We'll see what Pat can do. There's a big porch for drinking beer. I thought Jason would give a better lame excuse, like he had to cut the grass.

I have complete faith that Pat will make the rain clouds disappear. I tried my anti-rain dance but the weather girls still say that there is gonna be rain on Fri and Sat. Maybe me need to smoke em peace pipe also?

You got me on that one Jim! I've gotta start reading these posts a little closer before hitting the "Reply to Topic" button. Hopefully you didn't have to stab your mind's eye with the image from the last post! :) If tomorrow is nice and I get enough time I'll try out the Fall foliage ride that was scheduled for last weekend. Hopefully there won't be as many leaf peepers out during the weekday.

Jay the Rain Dancer wrote: "I thought you were 50 percent Ohmygoda? In any case do your dance to chase the raindrops away." Hmmmm, I don't remember them telling me that but you're probably right! Chase....rain.....AWAY??? Ohmigod, I've been doing the wrong wrong chant! It looks like 90% now! T-storms and inch of water..... BRP will likely get froggy, will take lower back roads. Duclinea is ready. :) Pat COG 1887 IBA 5830 NRA LIFE VSSA LIFE Assorted bikes own me.

The riding, camping, company, and Buckwheats were all great! A super weekend. :) Pat COG 1887 IBA 5830 NRA LIFE VSSA LIFE Assorted bikes own me.

Pat, thanks for the tour of Burkes Garden and the route to it, yea another great weekend, but tell me how can you eat twenty buckwheats. Hopefully the weather will be good for Burr and I won't sissy out for Blue Grass buckwheats. See ya at Burr...........

Guy, I'll see what I have, but Pat did not give us much time for photo ops, he did however allow me to take a picture of the Burkes Garden country store clerk.

Nice pix you took, Mickey and Tom! Must get back to Burke's Garden and the Hungry Mom area for an extended stay. Cut some knobs in the Connie tars, Tom. ;) Pat COG 1887 IBA 5830 NRA LIFE VSSA LIFE Assorted bikes own me.
