Just received the August issue of Cycle World. The C-14 was one of the 10 best bikes for 2009. The C-14 was the only ST in the top 10.They also did a comparison in another article with the new BMW K 1300GT. The C-14 won and was $8745.00 LESS than the bike BMW sent for the test. To be fair Kawasaki sent a non ABS bike and the BMW had the Premium Options Package. For $22,245 for the BMW you could have the C-14 AND a C-10 as backup. :)
 
Both articles were very good and the C14 finally is getting its' due. Comparing stock bikes the 14 would still have bested the BMW due to the wierd tranny ratios - top gear in the BMW is like 4th on the C14. It was really revving and not easy to ride like the C14 tho' gas mileage was close to better. I'm still waiting for my copy. I'm a B. Why is W getting it first? :p Maybe it will be here today. As much as I would like a C10 for a back up. I would probably do what I already have done. I would get a totally different bike. I have a Mean Streak for my other bike. It's great for when my mood is completely opposite. On the C14 I have all the known attributes. On the mean Streak, it's feet forward, V-twin power, totally in the wind. It's really nice for a change. And in a pinch, I can slap on the windshield and bags for a trip. I've had her a quite a few. Know what you mean about a cruiser. I've got the ZZR and a Suzuki Intruder 1500LC cruiser, 2004. Love them both, one for performance and one for two-up with the wife and when I'm looking for a more relaxed ride. Still want a C14 someday though.... I just met a guy last night at bike night that recently bought his 1984 Ninja 900 at a divorce yard sale a couple of doors down for $700. It sat in the garage most of it's life. He said he put new fork seals, tires, fluids and clean out the jets. It has 9,300 miles on it. The thing looks like brand new. He rode it from New Jersey down into Maryland for the weekend, last weekend. He said the bike seems like a brand new 1984 Ninja. How come I never come across deals like this.
