Wow! I didn't expect so much interest so soon. I need to sort it all out later today (and tomorrow) and see what the shipping costs are going to be.

I'll get back to everyone as soon as possible.

Hello where could I get a switch bypass . It would be cheaper than Carmo. Thanks

I don't think you understand what's going on there. The switch bypass only bypasses a stuck switch in the headstock Stove Knob key assembly. It does not mean that you'll be able to start the bike without the properly programmed active FOB or passive RFD chip.

You could probably make your own from the info (photo inspection) that Brian put in the the install instructions. Brian chose to have a fuse that is pulled and then reinserted to activate the display, but a normally closed momentary switch could be used as well. Info is available in COG Tech Library.

How much is Carmo?
https://www.carmousa.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=4102_4105

About $270 gets you a working passive chip which will unlock things enough to take the bike to a dealer to get an active fob programed.

Carmo Electronics said:
We program a transponder for you. Transponder must be placed on a nok in front of the ignition switch to start the bike.
Original handsfree Kawasaki FOB key can be programmed by the Kawasaki diagnostic tool.

For this service you have to ship several parts to Carmo electronics:
- KIPASS unit of your motorcycle (see the picture beneath).
- Box by the ignition switch (see the picture beneath).
- Copy of the original purchase papers of your motorcycle.
- Copy of identification / driving license.

The Kawasaki FOB key is not included

I'm in my second season of riding after Carmo got me going again. My original fob's burnt up in a car fire. I tried using a kipass unit and fob from another bike with no luck and it was a nightmare. Carmo had me up and running in no time after the bike sat for 2 years. Personally IMHO Carmo saved my bike as I was one step away from giving up on it.

Still have the Phil's rack and the Trex guards? Let me know if I could get pics without too much of a hassle. I'm assuming the Phils has the SW Motec hardware installed? And is the Trex stuff all black including the replaceable sliders? Was thinking about buying this stuff anyways so if it's what I'm looking for might as well help you get rid of it. Thanks!
