Dark Side Tires For My C10

I have a 2005 C10 and am pulling a Hannigan sidecar. The front end has been modified with a SteeRite fork conversion for more rake and better steering. I'd like to run a car tire on the rear, as many sidecar rigs do. I may even consider a car tire on front, but want to do the rear first. I can find nothing in the COG forums about how to do this or anywhere else online. Do any of you know of any C10 riders running a car tire or know where I can find the information to do so?

Look in the archives under Concourier I recall it was August 2008. That was my submission. Still running it. Edit: look for Summer issue 2008

You should contact Bernard in France. I believe he has a sidecar rig and is a wealth of knowledge and alternative ideas.

You will need to use something like Google translate to communicate.

That link takes me to his blog site (I think), but when I click on the translate button it wants me to open and pay for my own blog site. Do you know of any other way to contact Bernard or anyone else on the COG forum that may be able to help me?

I put the French URL into Goggle Translate and got this message:

The translation is unlikely to be helpful, but there it is:

to blogs for free by accepting advertising cookies

Beyond that, left link is for logging in after you have an account, the right one is to sign up. But the site looks like BS to me and keeps throwing pop up ads at you. No idea who Bernard is (I know a COG member named Bernd in Germany), but maybe you can find him through the Euro Concours club for GTRs.

It's Bernard from France that was on the forum for a while. He's been following my bike project on google photos.

To communicate with someone in a different language, I go to Google translate. I copy the text that I need translated and paste the text, not a URL, and have it translated. It works both directions. This video should help.

That's what I did (I think) when I got the "Can't support this form" message. I'm sure not a tech whiz so maybe I just don't know what I'm doing.

Did you watch the video about Google translate? If you can copy and paste you can do it.

I didn't have time to read the whole article you referred me to earlier, but I printed it out and am settled into my recliner now to give it a good read. I may call you later this week.
I also belong to the United sidecar Association (USCA) and I posted on that forum about car tires since a lot of those guys run car tires on their sidecar rigs. If you didn't notice my member picture, I'm also pulling a sidecar with my C10. One of the USCA members posted the falling on my query:

"Floyd, I know for sure that the 175/70-16 will fit on your rear wheel, and inside your swingarm space. That's only 1/4" more in width on each side of the current tire.

You will need to check to see how much space you have on each side of your current tire, to see IF a 185/70-16 will fit, as it takes 1/2" wider on each side of the tire."

What, if anything do you know about that? Did you ever try a 175 or 185 tire on your bike?

Yes I did try a 175/16 tire on the stock wheel. There was some rubbing on the shoulder of the inner fender but no real problem. VERY close to swingarm but no rubbing there.
