Anyone tried the NAPA motorcycle filter bk 7401155? http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=BK&PartNumber=7401155&Description=Fuel+Filter+%2f+Motorcycle+%26+Specialty Smaller than the 3006 that others have used but recommended by NAPA for motorcycles. 75 Micron porous bronze filter and is clear. I noticed David J. Morrow's tech pages mention he has used it instead of the 3006. looks like the filter on my bike. po already had it on when I bought it in Feb. Only problem was the fuel line was too long and started pinching off in hot weather and low tank volume 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Thanks Bill. I'll be careful to make sure the fuel line isn't too long. Greg H MA COG# 7010/7010a Tracey CDA 120 Connie Droppers Anonymous Awards Dude -CDAAD 99 Connie "Herrin Christabelle" 05 Ninja 250

If I remember right the reason people were using the 3006 was that the right angle somehow helped to prevent hydro lock. That is the thread(s) where I always saw it mentioned. Of course I reserve the right to be wrong about that. :confuse: Respectfully Yours! Wess Heavner COG #8010 CDA #0239

Preventing hydrolock? You may be thinking of the shutoff solenoid some have installed inline, but I don't think a fuel filter could ever do anything to prevent hydrolock. Unless it cracked, and all the gas drained out of the crack before reaching the carbs or cylinders. In which case your problems would be...um...hotter? I'm pretty certain the 3006 has a following within our ranks because of the 90 deg bend on the correct end. It just seems to fit well, without causing any obvious flow restriction. At least that's why I use it! Mike B / Gig Harbor, WA

Yeah the 90 degree bend allows for a better routing of the fuel line thus less chance of restrictions. AKA "2linby" That's 2-lin-by folks! If I remeber right the hydro-lock issue was raised because of the volume of gass in the filter on the wrong side of the electric shut off being able to drain through bad needle seats into the cyclinders. Shouldn't be a problem with that small filter Graig is asking about. 1990 Aint she a pretty Tomato wedshots albums http://community.webshots.com/user/sawfiler64/albums/most-recent

Not shure, but Dave mite be usin it on his FJR (that has a fuel pumpy). With a Conc ya need all the flow ya can git when the tank's low or yer playin with the loud stick. I've been happy with a cheepo clear 5/16" generic MC filter. Dinky makes it EZ to position & not kink yer line. 01 Conc, Mijami Floriduh Over the Pond 06: http://tinyurl.com/2vk9o2 route map: http://tinyurl.com/4p7pmd

Paulie, I now also have a bike with a fuel pump that needs a fuel filter. Does the 3006 work ok with a fuel pump? It's for a Suzuki Intruder 1500LC. thx.

Paulie, I got the O-ring - thanks! I had posted a note and thanks on the other message thread once I received it. I am going to try the 3006 on my Intruder as cars have fuel under pressure going through these filters so I should be ok. My Intruder is carbureted so it's not like fuel-injectionpressures. thanks David
