Should gas be able to run out of the fill cap when the tank is turned on it's side? When I dropped mine the other day, gas ran out of the cap and soaked my tank bag. No saddle bags so she went down flat, even scratched my trunk and folded my tip-over bar back. Full tank of course. COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife
 
Having experienced a full lay down myself as well as several times removing the tank and forgetting how full it is and putting it on it's side, I have found that the cap is not completely tight. If keeps stuff from flowing in, but I have had seeping fuel coming out. Nothing like a hole or the like, but a slow film. Enough to remind me to quickly right the tank. Hope this helps.
