@ONOBob see in this post - today I came down off the fence and jumped on the XT.

Looking for the improved experience in a number of areas: WIFI map updates; weather protection; brighter daytime screen; more detailed screen; trying out the adventurous ride mode (hear some mixed results); refined route planning; easier file upload / sharing amongst a dozen plus other features and capacities I plan to leverage.
