Gas cap seal

So I pull in the garage last night from a 40 mile ride, my fuel level is about 1/4 and when I shut it down, I hear a hissing noise, like a small air leak.  I narrow it down to my fill cap, it is either sucking or blowing; couldn't tell, but once I opened it, it gave the normal "swoosh" and I closed it back and it stopped hissing.  I also smelled fuel before I opened it so that leads me to believe it was blowing.  Has anybody had any issues with the seal going bad?  Or should I even be worried?

Yup, happens to me in the warm weather all the time too.  Never had a problem with it as a result.

Being as the temp last night was around 70 I can't wait till it hits 100 here in Houston, it might sound like a jet engine  ;). Thanks for the replies.
