Hi Viz Frogg Toggs

Tom Batt of Country Gentlemen in Winchester Indiana sent me some of the newest model of Road Toads in Hi Viz lime green. I have taken some photos and put them in a gallery on my site here: http://www.pbase.com/fredharmon/froggtoggs One of my biggest complaints about Frogg Toggs was they didn't come in any brighter colors that would be more visible in traffic. Well, now they do. This Hi Viz green REALLY STANDS OUT! I like it! The material on these are just a little bit thicker than the original Frogg Toggs, and they look like they should hold up a bit better over the long haul. The only down side is they don't pack up quite as small, although it's not a big difference. I also notice all the seams are now sealed from the inside and the zippers and snaps have been strengthened, and reflective piping has been added. Overall, they look to be greatly improved over the original Frogg Toggs I have been using for several years now. The pockets on the pants are pass through pockets so you can reach stuff in your pants pocket, and the legs have longer zippers so you can put them on over boots. I guess now I have to go find some rain to ride in and test them out. Can you see me NOW?

Yeah Fred that's an improvement. I still have my ol orange ones but they've seen better days. 01 Conc, Mijami Floriduh OTP 06: http://tinyurl.com/2vk9o2 route map: http://tinyurl.com/4p7pmd

When I first tried Frogg Toggs (circa 2000) I found that the jacket did not overlap the pant enough when seated on the motorcycle, allowing rain to get in the pant from the rear. I alleviated this problem by getting a pair of the Angler with bib pants. Are the new jackets/pant better in this regard? -- Steve Smith, COG #3184 COG Northeast Area Director (somewhere in south central CT)

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

So why did they stop with just the coat? Seems dumb to me to have black pants, oh well, they're halfway there.

I recently bought a suit in that Hi-Viz but have not had a chance to check it out in the rain yet. I do love the extra visibility that you get with it. Not sure having the pants in that color would really add that much extra to it. Bob Sherwood COG #2994 COG Industry Liaison MSF RiderCoach Statesboro, GA

I have an older set of the orange ones. These new Road Toads are much better in several ways. The material is thicker, the zippers and seams stronger, and they are just more sturdy overall. Here is the contact info for where I got them from. The Hi Viz Road Toads are very new, and not many places have them. My eyes! My eyes! ;) I just saw a pair of these at Cycle Gear in SA on Tuesday. They are pretty bright alright and definitely seemed thicker and stronger than the pair I used to have. Just cuz they can see you now Fred, some folks might wanna play Frogger on ya... be carfeful.

Hmm, thicker material. That sez "hotter" to me. Dat true, Fred? 1 of the nice things about the orig ones is they were fairly cool & breathable. They are flimsy tho, mine's nicked up here & thar. 01 Conc, Mijami Floriduh OTP 06: http://tinyurl.com/2vk9o2 route map: http://tinyurl.com/4p7pmd
