Would anyone be up for a late Feb-early March ride around Hood Canal? Maybe meet up in Kingston area and lunch somewhere on 101. Weather will most likely be lousy hence the name. And the days are still pretty short, so a 150 mile or so ride. Any takers and suggestions on route and or rest stops would be welcome. +1 Schedule and they will come. Send me the details and I will post it. For sure I'll come if I'm free and its not snowing! :) Give me a call on the phone if need be! Colin Colin Prior COG IT Officer Lake Forest Park WA COG#7767 AMA#10817

Looks like some interest I will try to pre ride the route maybe next weekend to check it out. I've been over the 101 part several times, but only down the peninsula part way once. (last year for the 5 ferries ride) Don't have any ideas on where to meet, way points, and most important EAT. Will try to set up a schedule after I scout a little more. Maybe last Sat in Feb. or first Sat in March? "If it hasn't killed me yet, it's runnin out of time" COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

OK what's going to work best for everybody? Sat Feb 27th or March 6th. Silverdale work for a start? Going down there this Sat RTE. Will check out possible start point then. "If it hasn't killed me yet, it's runnin out of time" COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

OK, Tentative plan, Meat at Burger King in Silverdale at 8:00 AM, return to silverdale Famous Dave's BBQ in silverdale. If the weather is real nasty we can forgo the 101 side of the canal and just ride the Kitsap Peninsula, probably take a vote at the time. Will see about getting this posted on calendar "If it hasn't killed me yet, it's runnin out of time" COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

Just pumping this up a little. Meet at 8AM at burger king in Silverdale on Sat March 6th. 160 mile ride around Hood Canal and back to Silverdale for BBQ at Famous Dave's. Yahoo maps says 4 hours and 21 mins. Figure at least 5 hours with stops. Should put us at Famous Dave's about 3-4PM. Expect it to be posted to calendar any time now. Yes but not much! Just back from playing soccer. Last night had a young Canadian lassie stay over from Victoria who was driving back from Miami with 3 International 470 racing dingies in tow. She and I spent some early this morning trying to figure out how the rigging is supposed to go on my 20 year old boat. If you don't know what a 470 is see here:

Roland came round tonight to have me put his carbs back in after I rebuilt them, he says he's in. I think David and Susan H. are as well. Looking forward to it. But I have to replace the rear tire first as my second attempt to patch my New Pilot GT also failed! :( C.

I'd like to get a heads up on how many might be in so I can give Famous Dave's a little warning. Will probably call them from Quilcene with time and more accurate count before we head back to the HC bridge. Need to print route sheets for everyone too. Just making sure you know to count me in for dinner and a ride. I registered on the calendar, but that one might not be noticed.

Good turn out for the ride with 8 bikes and 9 helmets. Only down side was not one bike got washed. Beautiful day in the Pacific North West. A big thanks to all who showed up for my first attempt at hosting a ride. Will post pics with a link to "my webshots" Colins buddy took some vids. I'll try to get a copy of them posted too. Here is a link to the pics I took. I forgot to take pics at BBQ. The 4 of us managed to eat for all. 3 Qs for 2: 1/2 rack ribs, 1/2 chicken, either pulled pork or hot link (not that hot, but a piece of sausage heaven) 2 corn bread muffins each, potato wedges and Wilbur beans. 1 Half rack and Brisket with corn bread muffin and potato wedges. 2 huge bread puddings (the pudding would jiggle on the spoon) covered with real whipped cream 1 pecan pie smothered with whipped cream (looked like a 1/4 of a whole pie) 1 hot fudge Sunday, about a 1/2 gallon of ice cream over and under hot fudge with about a quart of whipped cream scattered around the sides. We managed to waddle out to our bikes and actually get on them for the ride home. Bill, Thanks again for taking the initiative. The door prize is definitely a very cool addition to my tool bag. I think your link to the pictures got covered up in all that food. I still haven't eaten anything since, and I'm coming up on 18 hours since that feast.

click on the pic of the bikes and it will take you to the album. Only 3 pics. Maybe a vid added soon though. "If it hasn't killed me yet, it's runnin out of time" COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

Door prize? Wot? Show! I was going to do the COG ride before I wasn't. The ADV south sound ride and the KLR 650 twisted my arm more. We had a great ride west of 101 along the Skokomish river on FR 23 and fr 23xx roads. Snow prevented riding one road and had some along the shoulder on another. I agree, a great riding day in the PNWet without the wet and with the sun!
