I've debated long & hard about hosting this event again & had all intentions of not doing it again, but I've had a change of heart. It's well attended & everyone seems to enjoy it.

So, mark your calendars, May 15 - 18th HMR is back. Everything will be pretty much the same as usual, it seems to work but I am open to suggestions for improvement. Registration includes 3 dinners, 3 breakfast, water, soft drinks & coffee for the weekend along with a place to camp. Only thing you have to provide is your adult beverages & lunch.

There will also be plenty of firewood furnished for nightly fires.

MSTA also has an event in Harrison at that same time, just 75 miles up the road. So, we may cross it over there to.

Details to follow, I am considering setting a limit of maybe 40 but may go up to 50.

HMR is now open for business. We did put a limit of 40 on this year, so get signed up. Based on past event #'s we'll hit the limit.

Just remember, every year is the last year!

Ted you are using the green money right? I know how you like to use that red stuff, but the COG computer won't recognize that as legal tender. ;) 🤑

I don't know what you did, but all I got to say is that I setup the registration page just the way Cliff asked me to. :D

In all seriousness, did you notice the big box shaded in yellow on the registration page? When you have a minute, ping me and I will help you get your registration sorted out.

Well that's funny that card worked fine for me today. I think I need to cancel that card and get a new one before you try charging more m/c parts.

OK, that firms up the touring schedule for the spring...I've never been to the Ozarks, and my skills seem to be needed. Pencil me in wherever you need me, Cliff. I'll do reg amd trip-planning as needed. Anyone halfway there with a couch?

But Cliff knows that, cuz he and J are Honorary SECOG members. Hell, they're likely nationwide.

I just threw out the halfway comment when I saw that I needed to attend their home event and was welcome.... I'm still looking at the map and have SECOG members and other friends on the way. Not being a Road Warrior like Cliff or Ted, I have to plan a trip like this months ahead...

Yeah, but trailer tires cost about $85/each. Can’t fault that.
 
I have sent a link to the MSTA AD for the Arkansas area. He will put in the MSTA newsletter, hopefully we get some MSTA members in here & mix things up a little. Seeing is how things have been so slow on this forum.

The local hotel will not be reopening as a hotel. Anyone that has plans to hotel it will have to go to Conway for a room. At the intersection of I-40 & hwy 65N there is 1/2 dozen plus hotels to choose from all grouped close together. The drive will drive about 15 miles.

DO keep "him/Bud" at the other end of the field from Ted.
In fact, I suggest Bud camp over by the barking dog.
It will give "him" someone to talk to. :poop:

I arranged this so that no one will feel that I'm guilty of mistreatment.
ie; My Buddy, "Irene" will be there with "Jorge".
Her presence will keep the dog from feeling abused. (y)

PS-2; "Irene" yer welcome to come over to our side of the campground anytime you want. 🤠

Well I'm back in KC now, moved back from Charolotte. Looking at a Toyhauler. Hopefully I'll take some of the ribbing away from Ted if I bring it.

Just a FYI, Mike Dionne tried signing up but the captiva portion of the pay process was not working for him. He has limited time and would like to know if he can just pay when he gets to Cliff's

Not taken the money seems to be pretty common, but he got registered. I will say Daytona Mike; is a face & name I haven't heard or seen in a long long time. It will be good to have him here.

Just bring ear plugs like the rest of us.
However, if you forget them, once the "singing" (sic) starts just grab your phone and pretend to get a call and walk out of the room with the phone to your ear and a finger in the other ear...you should be safe if you act quickly.
 
I missed out on this event last year by a couple of weeks. So, I really appreciate you Cliff for doing it again this year. I had a great time with those I got to meet and ride with last fall.
 
Just want to let the first timers know that normally about half of those attending will arrive on Wednesday. So, if you plan on Wednesday a arrival we typically order Pizza & everyone chips in, or you can go to town If you don't eat Pizza. We have paid for it a time two if there's enough money left, so you have the possibility of a bonus meal.

We've occasionally had folks run into issues processing payments through Wild Apricot, but I haven't heard of any recent problems—especially with the HMR.

If you've experienced any issues getting your payment to go through (even if it worked on the second try), please let me know. I'd like to understand whether this was an isolated incident or part of a larger issue. If needed, we can reach out to the vendor to get it resolved.

After rereading that last no-payment notification I received, it says Kieth Systemtesting so I'm not really sure what or who that is. There have been 8 - 10 notifications I have got though. They have been deleted so I can't provide the names.
 
There is no problem or error.

It was a system test. It says so right in the registration. And even in the last name. It was done to check a very specific piece of functionality. It did exactly what we hoped it would and worked fine. It was never meant to progress to actual payment (that was part of the test). Payment wasn't even attempted.

Relax.

Go back to discussing what an awesome event Horseshoe Mountain Rendezvous is!
There is still room for 2 more lucky ducks (at least).

(I sit here on the west coast jealous of those that get to attend)

I wasn't going to say anything but.........

I tried 6-or 8-times using Edge, Chrome and android. Captcha stood in the way, so I gave up. 15 minutes later I got an email reminding me that I needed to pay. Clicked the link and was able to pay.

This is a recurring problem for me regardless of the event.
