I just bought a 2006 with damaged right lower panel and cowl. The original owner removed all the lower bodywork. Is it OK to ride it like that? Thanks, Rich
There are actually quite a few out there with little to none of the plastic. COGzilla is one http://rides.webshots.com/album/410563888cylQwc http://millerized.com/pegs I'll be in the garage
A lot of "naked" conks running around this is my son's 86 with a Ninja fairing and a Vance and Hines 4 into 1 COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife
Hi Jay, No other damage that I could see. The owner said he missed a tight low speed turn in the dark, left the road and hit something, but didn't actually put it down. Thanks, Rich
http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/115/3710/=4xg9so Try that out. page before and a few after might have what you need. http://millerized.com/pegs I'll be in the garage
You can repair the lowers with ABS pipe and a Dremil Cut a piece of pipe down its length. heat and flatten, cut to shape and glue with ABS Cement You can see photo's of the restoration of the 86 and 88 on my webshots page. Yes its quicker easier to buy and shape ABS form some place like mcmaster but I wanted to see what I could do for free (I had ABS pipe in the workshop) Don't try to color match the lowers of the older models Just paint them a different color, it's easier and looks better IMO
