Looking for aftermarket gas cap

I have tried a couple of aftermarket gas caps but when it rains, water gets into the tank. My C14 is a 2008 and currently have a Vortex cap. If anyone has had luck with theirs please let me know so I can give it a shot. I really don’t want to go back to the stock cap because gas with ethanol makes it so I can’t unlock it.

Under the stock cap, there is a drain to remove any water that gets past the cap.
Is there some chance that drain is plugged?

Ted, I checked that but no it's clear. This happened with my first aftermarket cap and then I bought a Vortex cap and same issue. When it rains I get water in the tank. I think it's the fuel causing the o ring to fail and let water in.

Then I have another question.
The drain lines to drain water below the cap pass thru the inside of the tank and have been known to fail. {inside of the tank}
(I think because of corrosion)
See if you can test it by blocking 1 end and applying air pressure.

Hopefully you don't have that problem!

I checked it. With a syringe I forced water down the drain and it came out the bottom. I think the issue is the cap that screws off has a small o-ring and by small I mean narrow. I believe this is where the water is getting in. I'm thinking of going back to the oem gas cap. They're cheap on ebay and I can always swap the key cylinder on them. Still the ethanol in the gas will ruin that one as well over time.

I haven't had any ethanol damage on mine so far. It does get stiff hard to move reluctant to operate occasionally {EZ boys}, but I spray WD or other on the cap lock etc periodically and it's doing ok.

My locking mechanism would get chalky white and won't unlock. On a ride it happened and I couldn't get it open but luckily Terry had WD40 and helped me out. I blocked the drain and applied vacuum to the drain pipe and it held so luckily the tube that goes thru the tank is intact. I'm going back to the OEM cap, it's only 24$ on ebay.
