oem grip heater controller on 08 C-14?

Has anyone tried fitting a newer style L.H. panel, which contains the grip rheostat and glove box to the older models. The fairings look to be very similar (different finish) although I have not had the two bikes side by side. I like the idea of gaining a glove box and a heat controller for an 08 C-14. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking.
