Seat question

branded0844

Bicycle
I had the seat on my '04 done locally with memory foam and then had a pro pad added and none of it helped with the discomfort. I even bought an early model seat that I am currently using. But still have the same soreness. At this time I cannot afford a aftermarket custom seat, so my question is has anyone tired either of these two covers. I know they are for an atv but may fit. I plan on going to a Gander Mountain store and looking at the Kolpin, just wondering if anyone had any experience with either. Thanks for any help. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?i=411406&pdesc=Kolpin_Gel_Tech_Seat_Cover_Black&cname=ATV-Accessories&aID=507A4&merchID=4006&r=view http://www.amazon.com/Stearns-Mad-Comfort-Protector-Black/dp/B000HSYA1K/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&m=A19XE0CFLN81HP&s=sporting-goods&qid=1246498907&sr=1-32 Denver (of the east) N.C. Go to Wal-Mart and get a beaded seat cover and cut it down to fit. Also try sheep skin. the beads look very uncomfortable but the really do help. COG # 8062 AMA # 1084053 ROMA or Scarlet harlot acording to my wife

IMO, only products that prevent moisture (sweat) from building up will provide comfort. Ventilation needs to occur between you and your seat. Look for beads or sheepskin covers. I like beads and haven't tried sheepskins.

Ya know I bought a Russel and have tried to resist putting my beads over it. Seems for that kind of money you should be comfy with no beads BUT its hot down here already and I think I may have to give up. One thing I think I can say is that the Russel is better then the stock heat wise. I am thinking that the stock seat lets a large amount of heat from the engine come through the seat pan and foam and the Russel is less. Not enough less but less. If you are riding in temps of 90 and less most of the time a good layer of insulation/air flow might be all the stock seat needs to not be as brutal in the heat over short distances. ---------------------------------- South Central Area Director Email scad@cog-online.org
