Strange line scored into tire, what is it?

I have what lookes to be a line scored into my rear tire, it's a Michellin PR2.  It looks as if someone took a box cutter and held it to the tire as it spun around.  Has anyone else experienced this, the tire has about 7k on it.  I already checked to see if there was something on the bike causing it like a screw but it's all clear.  I tried to takes pics but the line doesn't show up.

Any ideas?

Had it on a Bridgestone 023, it is normal on that tire and I would guess the same on yours. Can you post a picture?
Here it is on my 023

Joe I tried to take a pic but my camera must suck because I couldn't see it, I'll try again with a better camera.  Anyway that's exactly what my line looks like and basically in the same position, not down the middle but to the side a little.

Thanks for the reply, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

That's actually a mold line. I was talking to someone recently who had seen the process Michelin uses, and he explained that there are two halves of a press that forms the tire. There are two flat donuts of rubber, on on the top and one on the bottom, that get pressed together and formed around the carcass.  Nothing to worry about. I'm on my third set of PR2's and they all have that line.

I recently noticed the same line on my front PR3 and have managed, so far, to ignore it.  I thought maybe I was the only one.  Thanks for the timely posting. :great:
