tires for c 10

Having trouble finding tires for my c10, if anyone has any leads give me a shout at george.griffith@libertymutual.com or call 570-336-9424 Thanks George Griffith cog #6377

There is also the wing sized Shinko 757's from Murph. http://www.murphskits.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=167&products_id=425

Currently using the BT45's front and rear. They have a rear in the stock size. Use 110/80-18 front like in the link above. 2003 Concours, 65K COG #6953 IBA 28004 http://home.comcast.net/~slybones/Concours/connieMain.htm

Is there a FAQ on tire possibilities for the C10? Just now needing my 1st new front. Does it matter whether radial or not as long as they're both the same? Dunlop Elites were high-mlg alternatives for other bikes of mine; are they good for Connies? Thanks, Ron in PG

FWIW, this is from a text file of forum posts over a few years so it's NOT from me directly. Make: Kawasaki | Model: ZG 1000 A (94-05) - Concours Front Rim Size: 3.00x18 | Rear Rim Size: 3.50x16 Recommended Front Tire: Tire : D205 32JM-77 | Size : 120/70ZR18 | PSI/Loaded : 36 D205 120/70ZR18 FRT Ron Ayers $91.40 Recommended Rear Tire: Tire : D205 32JL-91 | Size : 150/80ZR16 | PSI Rear/Loaded : 42 D205 150/80ZR16 REAR Ron Ayers $107.18 O.E. Replacement Front Tire: Tire : K701 32GN-77 | Size : 120/70R18 | PSI/Loaded : 36 O.E. Replacement Rear Tire: Tire : K700 4254-91 | Size : 150/80R16 | PSI Rear/Loaded : 40 Avon AV45/AV46 AZARO-ST Sport Touring Radial AV-316 120/70ZR 18 Front Ron Ayers $108.95 AV-350 150/80ZR 16 Rear $119.55 Metzler ME880 130/70HB-18 Front Ron Ayers $107.73 ME880 150/80HB16 Rear $116.45 (1) Currently Dunlop & Avon are the only manf. that make a matched pair of radials in the correct sizes; there are several other manf. that make a radial front tire but not a radial rear tire etc. (2) Some folks have no problem with the stock K Dunlops, the D205 is nearly the same as the K but is considered a step above the stockers. (3) If your bike shakes after installing new tires; you needed to adjust your stem bearing anyway. (4) Both Dunlop & Avon will state that it is ok to mount their 120/70's on our 3.00" rims, the 110/80's will fit the 3.00" rim with no real loss of thread width. (6) 130/70-18 and 160/80-16 is the Gold-Wing sized tire that will fit the Concours no matter who makes them as long as they are the Bias ply; if you find these size in Radial they will not fit properly. (7) The G-W sizes are all going to give higher mileage than the D205s and AV45/46 will but at the expense of traction when pushed real hard. That's why the real aggressive riders are not real fond of the G-W sizes. If you are not a peg scraper then it is a pretty safe bet that you will be completely satisfied with the G-W sized tires; I installed Avon Venom-X Bias tyres on my bike last year, and I like them a lot more than the stock K Dunlops and I do not ride like an old lady. BTW You can also entertain the use of quite a few different bias ply tires in the 110/80-18 & 150/80-16 sizes but be sure to check that they are rated to carry the load of at least 520 pounds front & 759 pounds rear that way you have at least matched the stock tires load carry ability. Lastly you need not worry about installing H speed rated tires verse the V rated tires either.

Thanks for the info! I have experience with the Metzeler 880's (& 88's) on my Beemer. How they'd feel on the Connie... who knows. It may be a matter of what the shop has in stock among the choices above. Thanks again!

Been using www.swmototires.com for years. If you order the pair, its free shipping, usually either overnight or a day or so. Their pretty cheap and pretty fast and never had a problem with the customer service.
