Wheel changes

Well I get the bike up on the centerstand with a piece of 2x4 or 2x6 under it.  I remove the rear wheel first and then have my son (hes gottta earn his keep) lean on the back to raise it high enough for me to remove the front wheel without having to remove the fender.  Once they're both off I set the front of the bike down on a milk crate while I replace the rubber.  Installation is the reverse.

Thanks for the heads up,I used a my PIT BULL front stand but now need the Torque values for the front axle, Pinch bolts for lower forks and the rotor bolts.

front axle clamp bolts: 20 N-m (15 ft-lb)
front axle nut: 127 N-m (93.7 ft-lb)
front brake disc mounting bolts: 27 N-m (20 ft-lb)

Hope this helps.

ANyone use a motorcycle jack when changing out the tires?  I have an old Two Brothers MC jack that weighs a TON...well maybe not quite... and use it successfully with the Valkyrie to pull the wheels off... :great:

Thanks  ;D  ;D
