As many of you know, the original "OtP" Team has been working to start "OtP" 2019. {as it will die if something isn't done soon}
  {At this stage, we're waiting for the COG BoD to work out details, vote, and give us the go-ahead to proceed}

There have been several discussions about "OtP and I don't see many COG Members and/or Forum Subscribers participating in them..
This concerns me, and makes me wonder if we will have enough support to do OtP? {if it is approved}

So, my question is: if everything is approved, Who will support Over the Pond?

That support would be thru; Nominating Candidate's
                                            Voting to determine the Traveler
Donation's to help raise the $$ needed
Bidding on objects that are offered to raise $$
                                            Support with planning
Other details that I've forgotten right now.

Please post here if you are willing to support us if we do "OtP" 2019?

Ride safe, Ted

I yam in. I also vote for Rusty to go over the pond. Maybe they will keep him there -- at least for a little while!  ::)

How could I not support something greater than sliced bread?

OtP tagalong 2015

COG Nation,

"OTP" is an awesome program to support.  It it has enriched my life and has allowed me to make new motorcycle friends across the ocean.

Long live "OTP"

I will continue to support this program!!

you know I support OTP, always will, reason I joined COG (well, one of the reasons, as back then it was the most noble gesture I had ever seen)

I also ask you all to voice your opinions, and make sure COG configures, and follows thru with the release, of this venture.. COMPLETELY in the next BOD meeting, no prolonging, diatribe, table motions, associated foot dragging, just a simple yes vote... and done, and let this go on without a drama show.

lets get it on... :great:

I always do whatever I can with emphasis on route planning if the Traveler will be East of the Great Plains.

Need a little more info on what you mean by structured?

The intention is to do OtP as the Original "OtP" Team did during the first 12 years.
The same rules will be used...
A COG Member will be nominated and selected by member's & other eligible voters when the Traveler goes to Eu.
A GCE member will be nominated and selected by member's & other eligible voters when the Traveler goes to the USA.
In both cases that "person" has to be a member {of one of the clubs} that has a history of working for the club's.

Currently; A proposal has been sent to the BoD.
We're waiting for them to release "OtP" from COG control, and give us the ok to use COG/GCE as the basis for the program.
ie; After "OtP" is released to the "OtP" Team, it will be done thru COG, but not with direct COG involvement.

Side note: The COG Industry Liaison would be asked to be the go-between with Kawasaki to try to get a bike from them for the Traveler to ride.
{This is done to prevent any accidental damage to relationships between COG/Kawasaki/OtP Team}.

After everything is cleared;  We will publish the rules, eligibility requirement's, nomination/voting qualifications, $$ support information, and officially start "OtP" 2019.

Does that answer your question for now?

Ride safe, Ted

As I said before....
...his time with feeling.

When/if y'all get your s*** in one pile, let me know.

I still have an engraver, and while I will never again beg for the use of the COG logo (someone else wants to play that silly f****** game in my stead, have at it) I will assist as possible.

I will once again donate all money collected through various engraved products i.e. reserve fuel tanks, garage signage....and...dare someone asks again....COG member badges (if no one is currently making them that is).  I still have all the stuff from the last time I offered, and ran out of time and patience. (just bought a big barrel of patience....Sears going out of business sale...pennies on the dollar). I also have a dozen+ fuel tanks and lifetime lighters in case someone runs out of enticement?

I don't care to remember how much money came THROUGH me from other members across the globe for the map OtP plates and 'other' items, but it was significant and put a significant dent in the travel costs for that young lady to come over. Not to mention a significant dent in a few wallets  :) You shall still remain nameless...right Mark? Matt?

My work schedule this year is gonna suckassss (currently $28M in construction across 8 projects) but I will offer my services once again.

I'll also offer a motorcycle if someone wants to ride a slightly modified antique 05' ZG with a whopping 5X,000mi on it as an OtP bike. (no pink valve cover this time...sorry)  I certainly not riding it with my neck, and since no one is interested in buying it locally... So if it can be used in the process, by all means...it's yours. That is, unless Mama K or someone donates a newer one, at least you have a 'ride' to the party. Hell...I don't really even care if it makes it back home in one piece, as long as the rider isn't injured in the process. (SECOG bossssssses....we might want to discuss another antique give-away bike? Lets not **** this one up K?)

If you don't trademark it, I will engrave it. If you trademark it, and get me permission to do it (in writing from BoD or God herself), I will engrave it. Except body parts. I ain't engraving that s*** ever again. What a mess.

(oh, and the $$$ I sent through to COG was $1106.11, more than collected as I ate the postage and paypal fees.)

To further help answer the question about structure, I opted to post the possible OtP 2019 Nominee/Traveler requirements.
Until we get the BoD approval, they are NOT official, but, they ARE what we hope to use.

They are based on the way we did "OtP" in the past.

Hello Ralf.
Hope your feeling better!

Ride safe, Ted

PS: To those that don't know, Ralf was last years "OtP" Winner.
He escorted Mark and Dan when they went OtP and is also a personal good friend of mine.
He became ill several months after his ride, and has been on our minds.

I'm in.  I love OTP and what it does.  Thanks to the people that have decided to not let it die.  Ted, you're the best along with all the others.

Send grateful donations to OTP.USA@cox.net via paypal. And Thank you in advance. If paypal is not an option for you send an email to the same addy and we will provide you with a physical address to send a check to. Nominations can also be sent to the same email address OTP.USA@cox.net. Bless all of you for the support of a truly grass roots program that has no equal in the motorcycling community. You all need to be very proud of yourselves. I know I am very proud of you and do not hesitate to brag upon your accomplishments whenever discussing with the industry representatives. To be honest GWRA, HOG and BMWMOA are kinda pissed about what you have accomplished. Let's keep them upset ;)  :) :beerchug:

I‘m very proud to be a member of COG and GCE.

So many supporters! :bravo_2:

And I‘m honored to be able to help that OTP keeping alive.

Yes Ted, as a former OTP traveler I will do what I can
not only to support OTP, I will push it!

Over the Pond is a great exchange program between
COG members  :08: and GCE members

Since my unpredictable travel schedule prevents me from supporting the club the way many others do, I see the OtP as a way to do what I can.  I have a few friends/neighbors who are HD guys and they're quite intrigued with OtP.  They can't believe that we actually exchange riders for a couple weeks and travel each other's respective country (countries?), paid for by nothing more than donations!  Thank you, COG brothers and sisters, for giving me yet another reason for taking pride in riding my gorgeous, reliable, FAST riceburner, as they love to call her.  Ah, jealousy is such an ugly character trait...

OtP contribution gladly and proudly on the way!
