Why, after I log in to the COG home page, do I have to then log in again for the forum and vice versa?

Can't post after logging to the forum for the first time... Try Again - If you can't post in the forum, sign out of both the membership site and the forum and log in again. Make sure your COG membership is active and your browser allow cookies. If you still can't post, contact the COG IT guy at IT@Concours.org.
Why so many requirements to Log in?

Different programs running on different web hosts.
As a side note, I feel the IT team did an excellent job of seamlessly maintaining a common user name & password between both programs. I suspect the IT Team would welcome assistance from members who can help improve SSO as new software products are evaluated.
