broken throttle cable was another day, (Friday) another place, (Grossglockner high alpine road)  another roadwork  (parking lot outside of the road toll station)

OtP travelers will be arriving at LAX on June 2nd, and departing on June 20th, also from LAX.
There's some "chill" time after arrival, and before the adventure really begins, then it's off to tour the SW USA!
I believe Andre will be staying some additional time after Ralf departs to visit a friend in CA.

But there has been a small change taking place.
I will arrive at LAX on May, 30th. Then stay with a friend of mine till June, 2nd.
I will be at Lax when Ralf arrives to be his nanny from the first minute on for the whole adventure.
Departure will be for both on June, 20th, afternoon,
Ralf with Air New Zealand heading London,GB , me on Lufthansa heading Frankfurt/Germany.

it is my first flight over the atlantic ocean, all the flights i did before, are only one and a half hour, and the destinations was in mediterranean sea.

I am really looking forward to it.

@Ted: Austrian beer is a very good beer, but you know about the import restrictions for tourists :c002: :38: - i can't carry it in my luggage, otherwise, they will not let me enter the United States.... :sign0135: :sign0135:

i had the plan, to bring some small bottles of Stroh Rum 80% as a gift to the hosts and volunteers, but i get a warning: they will arrest me, if i would do this... :96: :96: :96:

So it could make big troubles if i bring alcohol drinks, exotic food (surströmming, austrian mountain cheese, special smoked bacon etc...)  :character0029: :character0029: :character0029:

i must look at the duty free shop, if i can buy some good stuff... O:) O:) O:)

After in sum 13 hours of being in the air with 1h CGN-MUC with A320-200 and 12h MUC-LAX with A380-600 and a special intensive 2 h check thruout the Customsauthorities i was allowed to step on American ground. So fr so good. My host for the first couple of days,my dear friend, just took me on a small sightseeing alound LA. Walk of Fame, Hollywood and Observatorium

This was at the end of the first day when OtP picked up their bikes in LA and rode north to Santa Cruz. They got into town around 10:30 pm and were chilled to the bone from riding through the damp coastal air from Big Sur. Happy to host them for later dinner at my house, but had to take them back to their motel at 1 a.m. so they could get a few hours sleep before climbing over the Sierra the next day.
Great to see everyone!
 
Had lunch with the dynamic duo OTP travelers today at the Nimitz Museum.
Not sure why they didn't try the chocolate covered bacon, I did and it was quite good.

Them two fellas know how to chow down German food!  :)

Both are GREAT "OtP" representatives...

After all we are both back home safe and sound !

It was a hard time.... why ?

Because we had to leave all this wonderful people we met all the way on our trip.

Likely we would name all the people in Person, but there were so many.

For all of you it was easy.... Ralf and Andre !

Join for the bike, stay for the people !  That´s it.

Thank you for all the good things you did to/for us.

The hospitality, the friendship, the time, the bikes, the home, the ways, the talks, the hugs !

and the raised money to make all this possible!

It was a flashing trip for both of us.

Hopefully we will realize the whole dimension of this trip.

The wideness of the land, the landscapes all around,
the great mountains, the deep valleys,
big cities and small villages.

It is no doubt about the fact that we both will be in the US again.

Aye Mischa, and fur too! It was a very special event for me as I was able to enjoy our many European friends hospitality last year and then with the great help of the OtP gang,GTR/GCE, SWCOG and COG as a whole enjoy my great friends Andre and Ralf the following year. I know for a fact that Dan was pretty bummed he didn't get to play more with us. Stay tuned to your local Concourier for the SWAD report and many thanks to our SW area members that dove in to ride, support, enjoy this great event.
