Who ever is the winner of the OTP it is a trip of a life time. In 2010 I was the lucky OPT to travel to Europe for 17 days. It was one GREAT time. Back then I never though about traveling to Europe put this gave me a chance and I was able to come back in 2017 to go too the GCE Artic Adventure which was another trip of a life time. I just voted and send money. See you at the COG National in Texas. Hopefully we can get together for a ride together. ;D ;D

Since I often make some modifications to my C10
and the original handlebar position is not really comfortable for me
came the day when I performed the equipment with a "Spiegler" fork bridge and a touring bar.
The bridge was actually for a Ninja 1000RX and the handlebar was
actually meant for unclothed motorcycles.
I still needed extended brake lines, choke and throttle cables.
So the conversion was made and still had to be legalized.
For this the TÜV is responsible in Germany.
One morning I went there.
The examiner was ok, but very accurate.
He tested all existing and non-existent documents and parts.
He was not satisfied with the technical evidence, they did not fit exactly to the C10.
It took and lasted.
At some point, stupidly, he had his head right at the level of the horn and asked me to dip the fork.
Oops ... my hand actually slides on the horn button.
And she was loud.
The examiner paused for a few moments, then held his ear, got up, and went away without a comment.
A few minutes later he came back and put on the inspection sticker and said it was all ok.
But he still held his ear.
The moral of the story is that you only have to press the right button at the right moment
and everything works suddenly even though it did not want to be !

Today I give my closing speech.
The election campaign is coming to an end. Enough of the subtleties.
I thank you for the nomination and everyone had the patience to read my comments.
I would be very happy about an election victory, I would not be able to treat myself to such a fantastic trip myself.
As you already know, I practice two professions, I am a single mother of three childreen and have a lot to do for my parents.
I have not had the leisure time to travel around many thousands of kilometers by motorbike, that will change in the future.
This challange is the only chance for me !!
So far, I've spent all my energy getting my family off to a good start in life.
I know very well that I have not been there for your community yet.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity.
In 2016 I met Walter who taught me the fascination of motorcycling.
In 2017 I did the driving license for the bike :motonoises:. At the meeting in Kiefersfelden, Germany, I was received by the GTR1000 (C10) community :beerchug:.
I'm looking forward to actively participating there.
Now I'm making the streets with my Versys 650 uncertain :-\.
I'm a very positive person (yes, self-praise stinks :) . I hat spreads a lot of Fun.
I would be happy about many voices of you.

Who will have the opportunity to experience the ride of his life?
Who will have the honor to meet each one of you personally?
Who can be happy, as in the last 15 years, to receive the friendship and hospitality of the hosts,
organizers and participating sponsors?
Who can look forward to receiving one-off impressions of life and maybe even find friends for life?
Yeah, what's that crazy event that was started 15 years ago ...?
What does OtP mean for the participants, sponsors and organizers?
I put it together like this:
"OtP" is a great deal for everyone, the travelers, the hosts, the guides and all those involved.
It is intended for those who, under normal circumstances, are not able to go "OVER THE POND".
It is a symbol of what the community can do.
Nothing can explain the spirit of "Join for the bike, stay for the people" better than this event.
Over the years, friendship grew among all travellers and hosts.
And in the meantime, some of the travelers have returned to the places they were before ...
... because they fell in love with the other continent and its inhabitants!
That's the spirit of "OtP"!
And most importantly, it's purely donated, nobody is forced to give anything, nobody has to do something, nobody has to participate. And that makes it interesting!
It's all voluntary!
and now in the sixteenth season ...
Wow, incomprehensible! It lives ! But now the question is:
Why should I be the traveler who has earned all these great things?
Ohhh, there are a few reasons:
The first is, I've never been "OtP", and under normal conditions, I will not be "OtP" any more. So this is my chance to do it!
The second reason is that over the years I've done a lot for the community around the Concours. From organization of some meetings over the administrative operation of the German "Concours" - Forum up to support of individual drivers on tours, also "OtP", or technical support with all "Concours" - matters.
Over 100,000 miles in the saddle of the "Concours" speak for the motorbike experience since 1992 as a third reason for me to be chosen.
The fourth reason may sound strange, but it is so:
I do not want to let my colleague and friend Ralf travel alone in this wild land, but stand by his side,
as he will stand by my side. Alone we are good, yes, but in a team .... unbeatable!
I could continue this list many lines, but then the text would be sooooo long that nobody would read it anymore.
But there is something else, which is why I really want to come to you:
There are, of course, the 3 promises that I made
in the course of the nomination for the case of the election:
1. I'll get a bald shaving on the National in Kirrville!
2. I will spend at least one evening in Bavarian costume the evening and there may be more actions!
3. I am on a mission to visit a friend in California that I have not seen for nearly 20 years!
I am sure that in the sum of the things I have simply deserved to be the traveler at "OtP" 2018.
I look forward to welcoming you, to all the interesting people, this huge country and last but not least the ride of my life.

In case anyone has forgotten. Here are the Nominee's..
- Angeline „Angie“ Jochheim from Netphen-Hainchen, Siegerland, Nordrhein-Westphalen, Germany.
Angie is relatively new in the GCE community and got her driving licence last summer.
She paricipated at the GTR gathering in Kiefersdfelden last year.
- Þröstur Sigurðsson, our viking from Reykjavik, Iceland. 2 years ago he paticipated for the first time
at the GCE Rolling Alpes Rally on his own 1400 GTR, which he shipped to Rotterdam before.
- Ralf Peter from Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria participated at several GTR/GCE gatherings, organized
already 2 big international gatherings of the originally German GTR community. He also guided the OTP-
group twice and overtook the organisation and guidance of OTP 2017 (Mark and Dan).
- André Schaefer from Baesweiler, area of Aachen, Nordrhein-Westphalen, far West Germany is a frequent

Angie is relatively new in the GCE community and got her driving licence last summer.
She paricipated at the GTR gathering in Kiefersdfelden last year.
- Þröstur Sigurðsson, our viking from Reykjavik, Iceland. 2 years ago he paticipated for the first time
at the GCE Rolling Alpes Rally on his own 1400 GTR, which he shipped to Rotterdam before.
- Ralf Peter from Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria participated at several GTR/GCE gatherings, organized
already 2 big international gatherings of the originally German GTR community. He also guided the OTP-
group twice and overtook the organisation and guidance of OTP 2017 (Mark and Dan).
- André Schaefer from Baesweiler, area of Aachen, Nordrhein-Westphalen, far West Germany is a frequent

We already got some 1400 GTR (C14) from Kawasaki:
1. 2007:
Kawasaki Germany payed for a test bike, which was owned by a local dealer
during the GCE Rally 2007 in Mellrichstadt. Every participant could test it in
that first year of 1400 GTR.
Additionally Kawasaki provided two OTP motorbikes in Europe:

Darrell Anderson overtook his OTP bike from the Kawasaki Germany
managing director at their
German headquater in Friedrichsdorf near Frankfurt.
Unfortunately that bike came back damaged after it was dropped.
Kawasaki Germany paid for the repair.
3. 2015
Al Norcross got his OTP bike from Kawasaki Europe.
It was organized by Daan Zejdner.
Finally Kawasaki Europe shipped the bike from
Amsterdam to Fririchsdorf again and
Kawasaki Germany mounted pretty new rubber.

members.

one. For demo purposes (to present the new bikes to the motorcycle
magazines) they order only the newest models.
This is the reason, why it is difficult to get a GTR.

No, I will never win OTP.
I had my three chances and it became obvious that there is little support for sending me over the pond. And unlike Ted I do not have a pension that will allow me to retire and go on trips. So I do not see myself ever making it to Europe to go riding or attending any more COG National rallies.
