Hi! I'm in SE Penna and joined this forum because I'm considering buying a new Concours. I've read through some older "Thinking of buying" threads but I thought I'd get some more timely thoughts on the matter. I currently have 3 Honda's, a 2014 CB1100, a 2004 VTX1300S and a 2006 Goldwing. One would have to go if I get a C14 but I'll make that decision when I have to. It will be down to the VTX or the Wing though. I haven't test ridden a C14 yet but I have a feeling I'm going to love it. I'm 6 ft with a 34" inseam and I feel cramped on most bikes. The Kawasaki's seem to be built for taller folks and I know the quality, my favorite bike of all time was my '81 KZ750four. I've had the wing for a year now and although I do like it I've never really gotten comfortable at slow speeds. It is a touring beast though and does handle well for it's size. The VTX is my intermediate bike and although I'm not a "cruiser" type I enjoy it much more than I ever thought I would. The CB is my fun bike. Smaller and naked it's no speed demon but it's fun to ride and being a retro get's all the stares and people asking questions.
So I thought I'd ask for some pros and cons about the Concours, what upgrades would be considered essential and also what I should expect to pay. A nearby dealer has a leftover '20 that they gave me a price of 14,500 before taxes & tags. It was just the opening salvo but how far would you think I would be able to get them down to?
